Love is such a common theme among Christians, but most consider this subject elementary or simple. The world redefines the concept to fit their desires. The Church treats love like milk, and quickly desires to move to more “meaty” subjects. But the Greatest Commandments according to Christ is, “Love God, Love Others as you Love Yourself."
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (ESV)
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (ESV)
8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (ESV)
1 John 4:8-10
8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (ESV)
